Not all equal to the pain

Many tattoo artists will tell you that a tattoo is deserved, and that somehow we pay twice! What? Yes, the tattoo is not free, and passing under the needles is painful.

Pain is certainly one of the most subjective notions, that is to say that from one person to another, we are not all equal in the dermograph that ink your skin. We have a very different pain tolerance therefore, and like any body modification, our state of mind and our physical form play important roles.

What are the most painful areas?

If the pain felt during a tattoo is perceived differently according to people, some parts of the body are known to be particularly painful. Overall, these are the places where the skin is thinnest:

  • The inside of the forearms
  • The inside of the biceps
  • The ribs
  • Inside thighs
  • The inside of the fingers
  • The feet

The genitals, eyelids, armpits, along the spine and the top of the skull are less frequently tattooed, but just as painful.

On the other hand, there are areas where the pain is much more bearable. For example, one can talk about parts of the body protected by a wider skin, flesh and muscles: the shoulders, the forearm, the back, the calves, the thighs, the buttocks and the belly.

Tattooist pain arm

Depending on which part of the arm you want to get tattooed on, the pain will be more or less strong. Remember that the forearms are painful and on the contrary, the inside of the biceps really pique!

Good attitudes to adopt

Getting to a tattoo session is like preparing for a big sporting event: it can not be improvised. There are some very simple rules to follow, and some will help you better understand and bear the pain.

First of all you have to be relaxed! Hundreds of millions of people are tattooed, and they never said that passing under the needles was for them the most painful ordeal of their lives

Avoiding tension is a first way to better tolerate pain. Rest the old woman of your tattoo session, and especially do not drink alcohol (neither the day before, nor the same day besides)!

Remember to eat well before because the first minutes are sometimes intense, and it is not superfluous to refuel.

Ban the sedatives and all drugs in general, as well as cannabis use: a firecracker and a tattoo session do not mix well.

Finally, there are anesthetic creams and sprays, but we do not recommend them because they change the texture of the skin, which can also change the appearance of the tattoo after the session, while making the job more difficult for the tattoo artist.

Here, if you can not guarantee that your tattoo will be painless, ClubtTattoostill hopes to have made some of your fears jump under the needles.
